Vancouver Notarizations

A notarial certificate is a formal written statement made by a notary public or lawyer to certify the performance of a notarial act. The notary describes the notarial act, signs the certificate, applies their stamp and embosses their seal onto the certificate. Finally, the notarial certificate is attached to your document, and at this point, your document becomes 'notarized'. The most common examples of notarial certificates include witnessing the signing of a document, acknowledgments, the taking of identification to confirm identity, and notarized/certified copies. A notarized document indicates that a notary public has taken all reasonable steps to verify a signer's identity, and that they witnessed that person signing the document. Notarial certificates are also used to certify that a copy is a true copy of an original document. A notarial certificate confirms the authenticity of the attached document for third party use.

Notarization Sampes

Two sample notarial certificates are attached at the bottom of this article. The first notarial certificate is used to notarize a signed document, and the second is used for notarizing true copies of original documents.
