Certified True Copy Wording and Procedure
When you visit our office, we'll photocopy your original documentation (you must bring the original with you) and certify that the the copy is a true and correct copy of the original document. We apply a stamp with the following precise wording: "I hereby certify that the within instrument is a true and correct copy of the original document of which it purports to be a true copy. Certified this __ day of _________, 20__. Adam Brosgall, Lawyer/Notary Public".
We then sign the copy and affix our notary seal. Once this is done, the result is a certified true copy (aka notarized copy). The genuineness of the copy is guaranteed to all third parties who later receive the certified copy. When you have a certified copy, you don't have to part with your original documentation.
